Once you remove those and replace them with the Wilson springs for 9mm/40 big sticks you go from 26 rounds of .45 that may or may not all come out of the magazine to 25 rounds of .45 that are pretty darn reliable.
Spring Fatigue: Should I Store Magazines Fully Loaded
Feb 15, 2016 Even if you are 100% sure that there is no damage to the magazine or magazine spring, and that leaving it fully loaded will not hurt it one bit, you would also have to agree that there is absolutely no harm done by periodically rotating the magazines, rotating the ammunition, and/or replacing the magazines.

Police Department counts itself among the group. The Sandy Springs (Ga.) Police Department traded in their previous pistols for the Glock 21SF in August of 2007. Gun handlingSprings don't last forever, so it is a good idea to replace them before they fail. The best way to stop it from breaking is to replace your recoil springs every 3000 rounds. Not many Glock owners do this, but I’ve found it to be critical in avoiding parts breakage. When the recoil spring weakens, the slide moves faster and puts more stress on many of the parts on
Aug 19, 2010 glock makes some of, if not the best mag springs. i kept all mine fully loaded for over 2 years, including a 33 rounder, and they never jammed. (alternately took them to the range, then fully loaded again when brought home).
Apr 11, 2010 As long as the top cover is on, indefinitely the springs don't wear out by being compressed really, they are heat treated to keep their tension. Its from loading and unloading that weakens a spring. bmw20 Joined Aug 2008Is it normal to get one failure to feed per magazine? I don't recall it happening at all for the first 3500 rounds or so, it's just on my last 2 visits to the range. I cleaned my gun but it was still happening. How long do magazines last? Presumably the springs wear out at some point, is that the issue?May 31, 2008 Messages: 4,722. I got over 12 years of use from my original (non-drop free) Glock 19 mags that where always fully loaded before the springs began to weaken enough that they didn't reliably lock the slide back. Rebuilt the mags with new springs and followers and they work like new for the last 8 years. May 31, 2008.

Apr 24, 2012 Re: How long does a Glock last ? In 9mm, darn near forever with regular maintenance/spring changes, etc. In .40 and on the Gen2/3 models with 3 pins, I've found 60k is the retirement point even with regular maintenance in some cases.
